Toilet Paper Roll Cup

This is my first blog post for crafts so any feedback would be great. I got the idea to make a cup out of one of the large toilet paper rolls that my mom brings home from work so I could put my iPod and phone in it at night.

Here's what you need: a large toilet paper roll, scotch tape, packing tape, scissors, and a magazine (or something else with a cool design or whatever).

Step one: Find a large toilet paper roll that you can use for crafts.

Step Two: Find what you want to use to wrap it and make the bottom. It takes several magazine pages. After you cut out what you want to use, you might want to keep your scraps in case you need it to fill in any gaps or use construction paper.

Step Three: Piece together the wrapping for the inside and the outside and tape it to the tube where you want it.

Step Four: Coat the toilet paper tube with packing tape to keep from tearing the wrapping.

Step Five: Make the bottom of the cup. It needs to be strong so unless you use really strong magazine paper, you will probably need to make this a triple layer of paper. For this one, I used two magazine clippings and a piece of cardboard in the middle to make it strong. You will need to tape them together between each layer.

Step Six: Put tape in the middle of your cup bottom to attach to the toilet paper tube.

Step Seven: Attach the bottom to the toilet paper roll.

Step Eight: Coat the bottom inside and out to reinforce it. And now you're done.

Mine: I made mine before doing the tutorial so I made one for my fiancé and he wanted me to post pictures of both.
